2D CAD Designer
Our client, a successful manufacturing business near Norwich, is seeking a 2D CAD Designer to join their team. This is a full-time role based in Norwich, working 9:00am – 6:00pm, Monday to Friday. Due to seasonal variations, hours may vary.
Skills, Experience & Qualifications:
- Understanding of design and engineering principles.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD 2D.
- Good knowledge of Microsoft Office, especially Excel, Word, Internet, and email.
- Basic understanding of business finance concepts and calculations.
- Experience in a technical sales environment.
- Professional presentation and good business ethics.
- Flexibility to travel to customer sites within and outside the UK as required.
- Reliable commuting to the office.
- Availability for occasional overnight stays.
- Flexible working hours and willingness to work extended hours when needed.
- Clean or near-clean driving license.
Key Responsibilities:
- Create custom product designs for quotations and manufacturing using AutoCAD 2D.
- Prepare work orders to communicate design specifications to production and suppliers.
- Ensure design and work orders comply with company procedures.
- Participate in direct sales activities from customer inquiries.
- Develop design solutions and conduct off-site visits as needed.
- Prepare and negotiate product quotations using company software and procedures.
- Support other departments and perform miscellaneous tasks.
- Follow Health and Safety procedures as per the Company Handbook.
- Maintain compliance with ISO9001 quality standards and policies.
