Workshop Operative Our client, a successful manufacturing busines are currently seeking a Workshop Operative to join their team. This is a full time permanent position, working in Norwich. Hours: Monday – Friday 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM Overtime is also available The ideal candidate will have a good engineering aptitude and will be of a practical nature and work ethic. Key Knowledge, Skills & Experience: * Highly organised and able to work under high pressure during busy periods. * Be able to reliably commute to the Norwich office * Have a flexible approach to working hours and be able to work extended hours when required. * Clean or near clean driving license is preferable * Understand basic engineering drawings , methods and terminology. * Understand the principles of engineering and good working practices. * Ability to make basic calculations around material dimensions and specifications without the use of a calculator * Adaptable, reliable, tolerant and determined. Key Responsibilities: * To assist with or complete the construction, production and assembly of cases and affiliated products using a variety of hand tools or power tools. * To fabricate and assemble sub-assemblies with sufficient lead time to enable others to complete more complex products as scheduled * Liaise with the Workshop Manager, to implement work schedules to ensure the timely completion of all sales orders * Ensure a high standard of quality production with continuous improvement, reporting any problems or potential problems to the Workshop Manager * Train to be able to carry out the maximum range of tasks, for which they are capable, within the workshop department * Comply with all aspects of the Health and Safety procedures at all times. * Ensure that all defined personal protection equipment is utilised within the workshop or for the safe use of hand held tools e.g. hand routers, grinders, etc * Support and assist the Workshop Manager and other Machine operators/Finishers. * Liaise closely with other production functions to resolve assembly queries Benefits: 32 days per annum, including 8 days for public holidays * Free parking * Employee benefit scheme which offers (to employee and immediate family members): * a Wellbeing Bundle that includes a 24/7 GP, mental health support, discounts on gym membership, financial advice, online exercise sessions, guides to eating healthily including recipes, plus a lot more. * discounts and savings ranging from supermarket shopping, retailers (clothing, garden, pets, gaming, etc), eating out and takeaways, and Amazon, through to cinemas, days out, holidays, and lots more! * Profit Share Bonus Scheme payable at the end of the financial year. * Opportunity for employees who work well to develop their way up skill levels and receive pay increases accordingly.
