Painter / Finisher Our prestigious, manufacturing client within the Marine and Luxury Yacht industry, are currently seeking a Painter / Finisher to join their team. This is a full time, permanent position, based in Wroxham. As the Painter / Finisher you will be working to a high standard hand finishing cabinetry in excellent working conditions. Working daily with many solid hardwoods and veneered timber products, offering a range of different varnished finishes. Occasional external painting of hulls for anti-fouling and deck superstructure finishing. Key Job Responsibilities * Prepare for finishing, filling, masking and sanding timber and GRP with a range for different grit wet or dry paper, using orbital sanders. Block and hand sanding in acute areas. * French Polishing to and repairs to finished cabins and other boat furniture. * Hand applying finishes on solid and veneered timber products – using water-based lacquers, paints and hard wax oils. * Occasional spraying on timber and GRP – using Polyurethane and Epoxy paint systems. * Carrying out smart repairs where necessary – using Konig smart repair system. * Health and safety, ensuring the correct PPE is being used when working, and understanding of paint system’s requirements. Knowledge, Skills, Experience and Qualifications * Good working knowledge of painting and varnishing procedures. * Excellent understanding of health and safety regulations. * Experience working with wood including wood repairs * Working in a team when doing large scale jobs, spraying yacht interiors, sanding, and antifouling hulls, working independently on smaller tasks such as varnishing joinery components * Attention to detail in all areas, having a keen eye, right-first-time approach and ensuring work passes rigorous quality control inspections. * Experience in spraying paint/varnish on cabinetry kitchens, bathrooms, furniture (ideally 5+ years, time-served) * Wide experience in French Polishing techniques * Smart repair experience desirable but not essential. * Marine experience desirable but not essential.
