Our client, a growing manufacturing company based in Norwich, are currently seeking a Laser/Press Operative to join their team. This is a full time, permanent position.

Hours: Monday – Thursday: 7am – 5pm

Skills & Experience

  • Previous experience in a manufacturing, fabrication, or metalworking environment.
  • Experience operating laser cutting, press brake, or similar machinery.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings.
  • Good attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Strong understanding of workplace health and safety practices.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

About the role:

The successful candidate will be responsible for operating laser cutting and press equipment, preparing materials for fabrication, and supporting production processes to ensure high-quality stainless steel products are manufactured efficiently and safely.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate CNC laser cutting machinery to process stainless steel components according to engineering drawings and production schedules.
  • Set up and operate press brake equipment to bend and form metal parts to specification.
  • Perform saw cutting of stainless steel materials to required dimensions.
  • Carry out deburring, grinding, and finishing operations to ensure components meet quality standards.
  • Prepare materials and components for welding and fabrication activities.
  • Assist with welding preparation, including cleaning, marking, and fitting parts prior to welding.
  • Conduct routine quality checks using measuring equipment to verify dimensions and tolerances.
  • Maintain a clean, organised, and safe working environment.
  • Support other production and fabrication activities as required.
