Lead Technician - Barcelona Our prestigious manufacturing client, based in Wroxham are currently seeking a Lead Technician within their Service department, to be based in Barcelona (Port Premia) You will play a key role in supporting and maintaining super yachts up to 30m. Working across a wide range of mechanical, propulsion, steering, and plumbing systems, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality servicing, repairs, and refit activities to the exceptional standards expected of our client. This is a hands-on technical role requiring strong marine engineering knowledge, problem-solving ability, and a proactive approach. You will work closely with owners, captains, contractors, and internal teams to ensure projects are completed safely, efficiently, and on schedule. This is full time permanent role working 40 hours per week Monday Friday. Knowledge, Skills & Experience: Experience in fabrication and machining GRP repair experience Full driving licence EU work permit Strong marine engineering knowledge across steering, propulsion, mechanical, and plumbing systems Minimum 5 years experience within the marine engineering sector Fluent written and spoken English and Spanish Excellent communication and organisational skills Proactive and self-motivated with a strong work ethic Comfortable working under pressure and managing deadlines Logical and resilient problem solver with strong attention to detail Quality-focused with pride in delivering exceptional workmanship Team player with a flexible and positive attitude Main Responsibilities of the Lead Technician role: Deliver service and repair projects safely, efficiently, and to agreed deadlines Service and repair marine steering systems including rudder removal, rudder bearing replacement, and steering system servicing Carry out propulsion system works including removal of propeller shafts, servicing propellers, replacing cutlass bearings, shaft seals, thrust bearings, and flexible bearings Complete mechanical refit works including engine room refits, engine replacements, and marine engine servicing Service and replace seacocks, pumps, and other onboard plumbing systems Produce accurate technical reports and maintain clear communication with customers and internal stakeholders Maintain organised work schedules and ensure high standards of workmanship throughout all activities Support a safe working environment and maintain a clean, meticulous workspace Work collaboratively with the wider Oyster Service team to ensure customer satisfaction and project success If you are an experienced marine technician who takes pride in delivering high-quality workmanship and enjoys working on some of the worlds finest sailing yachts, we would welcome your application.
