A fantastic opportunity has become available for a Mill Operative working for a well-established and prestigious company based in Shipdham, Norfolk. This is a full-time position, on an initially temporary basis with the view of going permanent after 12 weeks. The working hours are Monday to Friday 06:00 to 16:30 (weekend working expected during busy periods).
Candidate Requirements
- Physical Fitness: The role involves heavy lifting, manual handling, and working outdoors in all weather conditions.
- Licences: A valid Counterbalance or Reach Forklift (FLT) licence is required; an HGV licence is preferred or heavy machinery experience.
- A flexible, enthusiastic, reliable, helpful and organized individual with excellent communication skills.
Responsibilities include:
- Conducting pre-shift checks on the HGVs, trailers & FLT prior to use and completion of the relevant documentation.
- Ensuring goods are checked, accounted for and loaded or unloaded correctly.
- Ensuring that the storing of raw materials and packaging is secure and to a satisfactory standard with no torn labels, unsealed wrapping and broken pallets.
- Effective waste management practices, ensuring waste control and segregation in compliance with Company procedures, including sorting waste/recycling and sweeping external areas.
- To ensure a safe, clean, and tidy working environment, adhering to hygiene standards, procedures and the clean as you go policy.
- Strictly adhering to site safety guidelines, reporting damage, and safely operating equipment like Lorries or forklifts (FLT).
- Occasionally assisting drivers or the public with inquiries and loading/unloading their vehicles.
