Goods Inwards and Inspection Assistant

Our client, a market leader in the design, development, manufacture, and supply of Stainless-Steel containment storage solutions is currently seeking a Goods Inwards and Inspection Assistant
to join their team.

This is a full-time permanent position based in Eye, Suffolk, working Monday to Friday, 8:00 - 16:00.

Skills, Knowledge & Experience

Proven work experience gained within a Goods Inwards/Warehouse or Yard environment.

A valid Forklift truck licence.

Educated to GCSE level or a similar vocational qualification.

Computer proficient skills including MS Office Outlook, Word, Excel, and TEAMS.

The ability to work under pressure and to deadlines.

Duties and Key Responsibilities
Working to the Purchasing, Goods Inward and other company Procedures.

Off-loading delivered goods with the use of a Forklift Truck and/or other manual handling equipment as necessary.

Performing initial checks to ensure the quantity, description and quality of the delivery match the delivery note and purchase order.

Assist in the packing and shipping of parts for sub-contract operations in co-ordination with other members of the operations team.

Prioritising workload to ensure deadlines are achieved
Assisting in movements of stock around the yard and Manufacturing buildings.

Assisting in Inspecting goods delivered using drawings, purchase order descriptions, specifications and supplementary documentation.

Assisting in rejecting non-conforming goods within the ERP system and ensuring that they are isolated from general use and suitably labelled.

Transferring stock between locations on Epicor as required.

Assist in perpetual inventory counts.

Receipting the delivery into the ERP system in real time as required.

Supporting control of consignment stocks/Vendor Managed inventory.

Ensuring any health and safety concerns are reported to the Procurement Manager and/or Goods Inwards Controller immediately.

Providing excellent customer service.

Keeping the Goods Inwards working areas tidy and safe at all times.

Involvement in business improvement projects where necessary.

To carry out any other duties that may reasonably be requested.
