Our market leading client, based in Shipdham, is currently seeking a proactive
Mill Engineer .

Hours
4 X 10 hour shifts p/w with Saturday mornings.
This is a mix of days and lates (6:00 - 16:30 & 12:00 22:00)
This is a full time, permanent position, based in Shipdham.
The role is a hands-on with an approximate split of 70:30 (70% of the time carrying out maintenance (reactive/proactive) and 30% of the time developing maintenance schedules/planning.
Primary accountabilities
- To undertake planned preventative maintenance activities and reactive maintenance to ensure optimum efficiency of our animal feeds production plant.
- To ensure all engineering tasks are undertaken in line with Health & Safety, Quality and Feed Safety Standards.
Whilst leading by example to ensure a safe working environment for employees.
- Observe and report all problem areas on all plant and service, whilst working as a team with all other departments within operations.
- Implement a preventative maintenance programme throughout the mill. Ensure the full completion of planned jobs to a high standard and report back on jobs not completed.
- Manage and develop a team - with full responsibility for performance, attendance and day-to-day people management.
- Investigate and take the necessary corrective actions to resolve any quality issues directly caused or influenced by the mill equipment.
- Drive continuous improvement across the site.
- Manage and work alongside subcontractors.
Other duties
- Responsible for site activity and security during weekend working
- Maintain a Maintenance Team call out rota and be available for planned Saturday maintenance.
Scope of the role
To effectively supervise the day-to-day maintenance staff, activity and tasks ultimately providing continuous production of the mill.
The Supervisor role includes working hands on as a fitter with planned time to complete supervisory duties.
Experience / Qualifications
- You must have proven experience in a production environment managing a small team, planning maintenance schedules and working with contractors.
- 18th Edition
- You will have a multi-skilled background in Electrical and Mechanical Engineering -
NVQ Level 3 / 4 in Electrical Engineering / Electromechanical or equivalent.
Remuneration commensurate with skills, qualifications and experience.
