The Kitchen Captain role at TOCA Social involves overseeing daily kitchen operations, ensuring guests experience a memorable visit, and supporting and developing the venue team.

Responsibilities
  • Prep and cook dishes to spec, maintaining consistency in portion sizes, presentation, and taste.
  • Lead by example in cleanliness and food safety; ensure the team adheres to HACCP, hygiene, and health‐and‐safety standards.
  • Help control food costs by adhering to portion control, minimizing waste, and working with the Head Chef to meet gross‐profit targets.
  • Support, train, and supervise the kitchen crew; coach teammates, provide constructive feedback, and lead new initiatives.
  • Assist with recruitment and onboarding, including participation in TOCA Talent events.
  • Monitor stock levels, perform weekly stock checks, and ensure proper storage and rotation to reduce waste.
  • Address problems promptly, whether kitchen issues, customer complaints, or supply deliveries.
Qualifications
  • 1–2 years of supervisory experience within hospitality, or at least 6 months as a senior teammate at TOCA Social.
  • Passion for food and a desire to create memorable guest experiences.
  • Reliable with a punctual, positive attitude and strong work ethic.
  • Ability to thrive under pressure while maintaining a guest‐first mindset.
  • Hands‐on individual willing to support the team and venue leadership.
  • Passion for personal and teammate development.
  • Flexibility to work evenings and weekends.
  • Willingness to support teammates across the venue and in varying departments.
