The Kitchen Captain role at TOCA Social involves overseeing daily kitchen operations, ensuring guests experience a memorable visit, and supporting and developing the venue team.
Responsibilities- Prep and cook dishes to spec, maintaining consistency in portion sizes, presentation, and taste.
- Lead by example in cleanliness and food safety; ensure the team adheres to HACCP, hygiene, and healthâandâsafety standards.
- Help control food costs by adhering to portion control, minimizing waste, and working with the Head Chef to meet grossâprofit targets.
- Support, train, and supervise the kitchen crew; coach teammates, provide constructive feedback, and lead new initiatives.
- Assist with recruitment and onboarding, including participation in TOCA Talent events.
- Monitor stock levels, perform weekly stock checks, and ensure proper storage and rotation to reduce waste.
- Address problems promptly, whether kitchen issues, customer complaints, or supply deliveries.
- 1â2 years of supervisory experience within hospitality, or at least 6 months as a senior teammate at TOCA Social.
