We are looking for an experienced Senior Garment Technologist to help shape and refine our Womenswear collections, ensuring every garment reflects our commitment to quality, comfort, craftsmanship and thoughtful design.
Working closely with Design, Product Development and our supply partners, you will lead the technical development of products from concept through to production. You will play a pivotal role in maintaining the integrity of each garment, ensuring it fulfils the design vision whilst delivering exceptional fit, comfort, and quality for our customers.
As a senior member of the team, you will be a trusted technical expert and an advocate for product excellence, helping to continually elevate fit standards and craftsmanship across the collection.
ROLE IN DETAIL
- Lead fit sessions independently, driving clear decisions and actions to ensure garments meet brand fit standards and customer expectations.
- Act as the go-to technical expert for fit-related issues, providing guidance and solutions to the wider team.
- Manage and communicate all technical aspects of garment development from prototype through to production.
- Collaborate with Design, Buying, Merchandising and Fabric teams to ensure products meet aesthetic, commercial and quality objectives.
- Ensure fittings are completed in line with seasonal deadlines, maintaining momentum through the critical path.
- Build strong partnerships with suppliers to achieve the required fit, quality and construction standards. Review and approve size specifications, graded measurements and fit comments.
- Identify technical risks early and implement practical solutions to support on-time delivery.
- Analyse returns, customer feedback and quality performance to drive continuous improvement.
- Ensure products comply with all relevant legislation, testing requirements and company standards.
- Support and develop junior team members, sharing technical knowledge and best practice.
- Contribute to the development and continuous improvement of fit standards, blocks and technical processes across the department.
- Support the wider Product team in delivering a cohesive and commercially successful collection.
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
- Significant experience within a Garment Technologist role across all womenswear categories.
- Expert knowledge of garment construction, fit, grading and manufacturing processes.
- Proven ability to independently lead fit sessions and make confident technical decisions.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to identify root causes and implement effective solutions.
- Strong supplier management and communication skills.
- Excellent organisation and critical path management.
- Commercial awareness and a customer-focused approach to fit, quality and product performance.
- Ability to build strong working relationships across cross-functional teams and supply partners.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality product.
- A proactive, solutions-focused approach with the confidence to challenge and influence where required.
- Experience mentoring or supporting junior team members.
- Excellent Knowledge of product compliance, testing requirements, care label requirements and quality assurance processes.
- Familiarity with analysing returns and customer feedback to inform fit and quality improvements.
- Keen interest in sustainability
- Knowledge of WFX or similar PLM system
- A keen interest in arts and culture.
- A genuine passion and affinity to TOAST
- Proficient in Word, Excel and Outlook.
