Overview

Assistant Nursery Manager Maternity cover - up to 12 month contract from Feb 2026 Winnersh - RG41 5RB Base salary from £32,344. We are looking for an inspiring leader to join our amazing team as an Assistant Nursery Manager at our Winnersh nursery! If you are passionate about early years, love supporting people, and have the drive to help a nursery grow and thrive, we would love to hear from you.

Working alongside the Nursery Manager, you will help lead the team, ensure the highest quality of care and education, and play a key role in promoting the nursery and managing occupancy. Key tasks and responsibilities:

  • Lead Quality and Compliance: Ensure the nursery meets all Ofsted, EYFS, and legislative requirements through high-quality practice, regular audits, and hands-on support in rooms.
  • Inspire and Support the Team: Engage actively with children's learning and development while guiding, developing, and supporting staff across all areas - from daily practice to performance and wellbeing.
  • Drive Success and Growth: Work closely with the Nursery Manager to manage budgets, occupancy, and staffing, contributing to a thriving, high-quality setting for children and families.

About our Winnersh nursery:

Our spacious, purpose-built nursery is conveniently located in the heart of IQ Winnersh business park, with excellent access to the M4 and just a short walk from the train station. We are within easy reach of Winnersh, Wokingham and Woodley. Inside, our bright, airy rooms feature free-flow access to outdoor gardens, where each age group has its own allocated garden space. Our newly renovated garden space provides a wonderful environment for sensory and exploratory play.
