Our client, a leading and forward-thinking legal practice, is seeking an experienced Litigator to join their growing team in Sheffield. This is an outstanding opportunity for a results-driven legal professional with solid experience in Personal Injury litigation who is looking to progress their career within a supportive and modern environment. This firm has a strong reputation in delivering expert legal services across multiple practice areas, with a particular strength in personal injury claims.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage a caseload of EL/PL and RTA claims that have exited the Portal, including OIC cases requiring litigation.
- Handle both pre- and post-issue Fast Track and Multi Track claims efficiently and effectively.
- Draft and implement Action Plans and Evidence Plans in collaboration with senior leadership.
- Investigate liability and causation, gather evidence, and evaluate the viability and value of claims.
- Draft pleadings, witness statements, schedules of loss, and other relevant litigation documentation.
- Represent clients at case management hearings and court applications (in person or remotely).
- Advise clients on settlement offers and litigation risk, ensuring excellent communication and service.
- Work proactively to issue proceedings where appropriate and maximise damages and cost recovery.
- Comply with Civil Procedure Rules, court directions, and firm protocols to minimise risk and write-offs.
- Monitor KPIs, manage caseloads through the case management system (Proclaim), and report on performance.
- Collaborate with senior colleagues on technical matters and contribute to departmental objectives.
Requirements:
- Minimum of 3 years experience in litigating personal injury claims (EL/PL and/or RTA).
- Proven ability to manage Fast Track PI cases through to Trial and settlement.
- Strong working knowledge of Civil Procedure Rules and litigation tactics.
- Confident drafting legal documents and conducting negotiations.
- Experience using Proclaim or similar case management systems.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong organisational and prioritisation abilities.
- Qualified Solicitor, ILEX, or experienced Litigation Fee Earner.
