DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES WILL INCLUDE:
Project Management & Implementation
- Lead innovation projects from concept through implementation and delivery to our clients.
- Leverage software solutions (including AI/machine learning) to support project delivery and explore novel ways to solve problems.
- Proactively explore emerging challenges and investigate the feasibility of solutions with prospective clients.
- Assess commercial viability of solutions / business models and comfortable with undertaking risk, regulatory and financial assessments.
- Lead on knowledge sharing and thought leadership by presenting and representing TNEI at conferences and networking events
REQUIREMENTS
Essential requirements include:
- A degree in Engineering, or other relevant discipline.
- Expertise in Power Systems with strong modelling, simulation and optimisation capabilities: β
- Power Systems Software experience with for example, IPSA, DIgSILENT PowerFactory, PSSE, etc. (PSCAD desirable)
- Experience with using Python or similar basic programming tools with a desire to further develop software skills.
- Experience with research and innovation delivery in a related field: β participation in industry / academic / regulatory projects.
- Commercial and strategic thinking: β good understanding of market trends, technologies and regulatory models. An ability to assess business drivers and models.
- Experience of working in a client facing consultancy environment, delivering high quality work.
- Some experience with business development: β engaging with senior leaders, listening and collaborating with others, co-forming proposals, securing funding and resources through to project commencement.
- Motivated to learn and develop both individual and team leadership skills.
- Excellent communication skills:- verbal and written communication.
- Post graduate research experience (Masters, PhD.) welcome but not essential β demonstration of research project delivery experience.
- 3 years plus consultancy experience or 5+ years related industry experience
- A track record of winning work.
THE POSITION
We are looking for a full-time Power Systems Consultant with experience in power system analysis to join our growing Innovation Team.
This role is designed for thought leaders with deep technical expertise and a passion for research driven innovation.
The Energy Networks team work with energy companies, governments and regulators with specialist studies, data analysis, and the development of innovative systems and services.
As a key member of the team you will be undertaking advanced studies that shape the direction of energy systems into the future β including grid resilience, advancement of community / microgrids, advanced renewable energy and data centre connectivity, offshore grid β AC/DC integration, digital twins and advanced data management solutions.
