DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES WILL INCLUDE:
- Carry out a variety of static, dynamic and EMT power system studies for thermal power stations, renewable energy connections, public and private networks and industrial facilities at all system voltages.
- Complete high quality, well-structured, concise technical reports for compliance and design studies, on time and within budgeted allocated hours.
- Commitment to continued professional development (CPD) including on the job learning, self-study and working towards professional registration as a chartered engineer (CEng)
- Work with integrity and professional pride at all times, taking accountability for your work to the benefit of your clients, colleagues and self.
REQUIREMENTS
Essential requirements include:
- PhD or MEng/MSc in Power Systems (ideal) or Electrical Engineering.
- Experience of network modelling and power systems analysis, with the use of any of these packages: IPSA, PowerFactory, PSSe, PSCAD, ETAP, ATP, CDEGs.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a strong attention to detail.
- Strong IT skills including command of MS office tools.
- Proactive team player that is self-motivated and uses initiative to solve problems and deliver outputs.
- Experience in research activities.
- Understanding of the UK Grid and Distribution codes.
- Understanding of ENA’s G99 and other Engineering Recommendations.

We are looking for a full-time Graduate Power Systems Consultant with exposure to power systems analysis tools, who enjoys solving problems and takes pride in their work. Joining our connections team, you will be using a variety of standard engineering packages to provide compliance and design studies and solutions to our clients, helping to shape the electricity industry and solve the eras biggest energy challenges. The Connections Team performs specialist power system studies for the connection of all generation technologies, energy storage and industrial facilities as well as public and private networks.
