We\’re collaborating with a Local Authority in the Brixton area seeking a Youth Offending Service (YOS) Operations Manager to work within their Youth Justice Service.

This is a full-time position (35 hours) on a 3-6 month agency contract with potential for ongoing extension, based in SW2.

The competitive pay rate ranges from £31 to £39 per hour, negotiable based on experience.

About the Role:

• Prevent offending and re-offending by children and young people through effective services as required by legislation such as the Crime and Disorder Act 1998, the Criminal Justice and Immigration Act 2008, LASPO, and related guidance.
• Manage the day-to-day operations of the multi-agency Youth Offending Service in line with Council policies, procedures, and national standards.
• Advise the Programme Director (SMG) and inform senior management of serious incidents, actively managing risks.
• Assist the Head of Service in developing and delivering Youth Justice and YOS Improvement Plans in partnership with other agencies.

Main Duties:

• Lead thematic areas within the multi-agency YOS, providing specialist knowledge to prevent offending among young people.
• Oversee assessment, risk management, case planning, service provision, and review, addressing the needs of young people and practitioners within delegated budgets.
• Collaborate with partners and agencies to plan and implement preventative interventions for at-risk youth.

Experience Needed:

• Experience in Youth Offending Service Operations Management.
• Experience working within Local Authority or Public Sector environments.
