The Role
- Implement solutions architected by the Ekco Platform team.
- Design, build, and maintain Linux and Windows-based services.
- Provide technical and procedural guidance.
- Monitor the health of Linux and Windows servers through automated processes.
- Maintain and upgrade these systems via change control and BAU processes.
- Work to automate manual processes using PowerShell and other automation tools.
- Diagnose complex technical issues and involve appropriate resources to expedite resolution (e.g., 3rd party vendors).
- Work on escalated requests or incidents from managed services.
- Provide follow-up status internally in accordance with specific OLA’s.
- Review and deploy new platform upgrade/patch releases into production following service SOPs.
- Ensure consistent and predictable application deployment through standardized environments and tools.
- Capacity and resource monitoring and planning.
About You
- 3-5 years of experience working with Linux and Windows operating systems.
- Proficiency in System Administration (Linux, Windows Server).
- Experience implementing and maintaining infrastructure monitoring and reporting tools such as CheckMK, PRTG, or Nagios.
- Experience developing automation scripts using PowerShell and BASH to improve efficiency and reduce manual effort.
- Experience maintaining updates and patch management through WSUS or Satellite servers.
- Maintaining and creating documentation for procedures, configurations, and programs.
- Evaluating compatibility of software with existing hardware and network configurations.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to prioritise tasks across multiple projects (time management).
- Ability to follow and produce documented step-by-step procedures for associated technologies.
- Superior written and oral communication skills, including knowing when to ask for assistance or escalate issues.
Bonus Points
- Knowledge of Hyper-V, VMware, or other virtualization technologies.
- Experience with Microsoft Defender, Intune, or other enterprise security solutions.
- Professional certifications in Linux or Windows such as RHCSA, Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate (AZ-104) or Microsoft Certified: Windows Server Hybrid Administrator Associate.
