Job Description

Purpose:

Responsible for installing mains and services to required standards.

Specific Responsibilities:

• Maintain own and others\’ health and safety
• Carry out safety checks and inspections on vehicles, plant, equipment, and sites as instructed
• Follow health and hygiene rules
• Ensure work respects the environment: prevent water contamination, maintain site cleanliness, prevent spills, minimize public disturbance, avoid damage to trees, and dispose of waste properly
• Excavate holes using safe digging methods to avoid underground utility damage
• Manhandle materials, plant, and equipment
• Install pipes and fittings adhering to standards, ensuring proper jointing and hygiene practices
• Drive company vehicles responsibly, complying with the Road Traffic Act
• Operate mobile plant for authorized purposes
• Maintain tidiness and security of site, vehicle, plant, and equipment
• Install and maintain roadworks to ‘Chapter 8’ standards
• Assist public, clients’ representatives, and officials related to company business
• Maintain safety, environmental, and quality records
• Report accidents, near misses, faults, damages, or defects
• Follow management or supervision instructions

Qualifications

National Water Hygiene registration (EUSR)
