Duties

We have an exciting opportunity for a Warehouse Manager to join our Operations Team at Middlesbrough. The Warehouse Manager will lead the safe, efficient and effective management of various operational tasks in a chemical production and warehouse environment, maintaining compliance to the relevant standards. Ensuring alignment on working toward shared company goals and a safe working environment, while controlling costs and delivering outstanding service to our customers. You will need to effectively communicate on all department related matters to all people and ensure the effective training and coaching of the team.

Key Responsibilities and Tasks

  • EHSQ: Through leadership and active involvement, ensure compliance to statutory requirements, quality procedures, responsible care, insurance requirements, and company policy statements including employment and disciplinary procedures. Have involvement and responsibility within safety related activities (Emergency Response) at site and ensure competence in managing site maintenance activities with the defined company Permit to Work system. Ensure quality reporting of incidents and near misses and complete investigations, identifying root causes and driving corrective actions. Manage and reduce risk using the various tools available e.g., Risk Assessments, Safety Critical Task Analysis and drive related actions.
  • Cost Management: Ensure effective cost management in all controllable areas, including overtime. Lead waste management on site and ensure efficient handling to reduce quantity and processing costs. Lead the PI counting functions ensuring stock accuracy through effective RF system and SAP usage. Lead the site handling of return of site empties and ensure effective liaising with transport and central planning and network sites to ensure we return them cost effectively. Add value to the business through continuous improvement, recommending and driving ways in which the site can improve profitability and operating effectiveness.
  • Service Excellence: Ensure the Operations Warehouse team picks, loads and dispatch orders to customer quality and time requirements. Safely operate the warehouse activities supporting the other operational teams and ensuring customer satisfaction. Drive good stock management practices and high standards of work.
  • People: Provide direction, focus and leadership to the team, through effective management and controlling department activity.
