We are seeking a highly motivated and talented Simulation & Modelling Engineer.
In this role you will support the development of VCARB’s Driver in the Loop (DiL) simulator activity related to vehicle performance development and optimization, giving your crucial contribution to performance analysis and tracking activities related to the DiL simulator sessions.
Job Responsibilities- Preparing and running the simulation software during DiL simulator sessions, including simulator systems shakedown sessions.
- Monitor the simulation tools’ correlation quality tracking, identify weaknesses, and drive the related investigations.
- Contribute to the development of the correlation quality evaluation methodology.
- Contribute to the Simulation & Software’s group activities related to the development and maintenance of vehicle models, simulation, and data analysis tools with the target of improving engineering methodologies, vehicle performance evaluation and optimization.
- Regular participation to DiL simulator sessions to organize sessions run plan according to VPG’s test items requests, manage the simulation software and car simulation parameters, including during race weekends according to sessions calendar.
- DiL simulation procedures and session conduction methodologies development and documentation, together and as part of the group of simulation engineers.
- Post-DiL simulator sessions test items analysis (either car performance or simulation correlation aspects), in collaboration with the other Simulation Engineers and Performance Engineers.
- Models’ accuracy analysis and tracking to produce regular correlation report.
- Development of simulation or co-simulation models to support the performance development activities.
- Simulation and performance analysis methodologies improvement studies and proposals.
- Long term vehicle simulation/analysis methodology R&D projects investigation and evaluation.
- Participation to Race and Tests Events support activities from VCARB’s Operation Room.
- Engage in exploring new solutions for simulation-driven performance improvement.
- Ensure that VPG engineers benefit from adequate support to make the best usage of the DiL simulation tool and models (live support and published documentation availability).
- Ensure that performance engineering methodologies and dedicated software tools are developed following a sustainable design and integrate coherently with the rest of the VPG Toolset and related guidelines.
- Provide technical expertise to support other VPG groups’ simulation-related projects.
- Maintain a proactive and positive attitude while working on assigned tasks, ensuring efficient delivery within deadlines.

- Experience using Adams, Dymola or other Modelica-based modelling tools, Matlab/Simulink.
- Experience in programming for engineering applications (for instance Matlab, Python, C#, Java, etc.).
- Familiarity with data acquisition and analysis tools and methodologies would be considered an asset.
- Excellent communicative and collaborative skills are essential.

- Excellent problem-solving skills and a proven ability to work under pressure, with a minimum of supervision, to the highest levels of accuracy and quality.
