About the Role
As a VAT Manager, you will play a pivotal role in advising a diverse portfolio of clients on a range of VAT compliance and consultancy matters. You\’ll be part of a dynamic and growing indirect tax team that plans to double in size in the next few years-creating real opportunities for future progression. What You\’ll Be Doing
- Providing clear, well-researched VAT advice with commercial, actionable recommendations
- Liaising with HMRC to support clients in meeting their VAT obligations efficiently and accurately
- Resolving VAT treatment issues with a pragmatic and commercially sound approach
- Representing clients in discussions and negotiations with HMRC and other parties
- Managing a varied client portfolio, generating additional projects and building strong relationships
- Supporting internal teams, including Transaction Services and Restructuring, on VAT matters
- Leading training sessions and contributing to marketing and tender initiatives
- Overseeing VAT registration applications and return reviews
What You\’ll Bring
- Strong experience in VAT advisory and compliance work gained in practice
- Solid understanding of VAT legislation and principles
- Ability to explain technical matters clearly to non-specialists
- Experience managing client portfolios and delivering profitable outcomes
- Skilled at identifying and converting opportunities from existing clients into new work
- Potential sector specialism (e.g. insurance) would be advantageous but not essential
- Strong communication, problem-solving, and organisational abilities
- A collaborative, proactive, and commercially minded approach

Preferred Qualifications
