The Imaging Division of STMicroelectronics is an organization present all over the world (Europe, USA, Asia). It specializes in the development and industrialization of opto-electronic products: CMOS image sensors for mobile, automotive, or medical telephony applications, proximity detectors, 3D sensors and gesture recognition, for international customers.

As part of our development, we are looking for a Team Manager to join the Validation department, joining a dynamic and innovative team in Edinburgh. You will work on state-of-the-art image sensor projects targeting a large variety of markets and applications. The team is currently made up of 10 people and you will be involved in all the division's products, with the main missions of:

  • Ensuring and guaranteeing the products qualification, products performances, and maturity from prior silicon to mass production.
  • Defining and executing the Validation strategy, contributing to the advanced programs definition and road-mapping, including System Use cases definition.
  • Supporting as Validation interface Key ASICs ST customers.
  • Innovating and disrupting on behalf of our customers and offering a differentiated solution.
  • Collaborating with the different Validation sites in the world.
  • Ensuring effectiveness of the team and completeness of validation plans and the timely execution of the team activities.
  • Creating the conditions to allow people developing their skills.
  • Increasing Validation team efficiency, reinforcing existing competencies, developing new pools of competencies on critical technical domains.
  • Recruiting and developing talent that makes our organization stronger, with improved cross-engineering team collaboration to be better aligned with our long-term priorities.
  • Ensuring the retention of top talent, addressing all aspects of employee engagement and satisfaction.
  • Setting a vision and ensuring our validation roadmap align with it.
  • Developing a vision in collaboration with other stakeholders.
  • Managing relationships with vendors and ensuring the team adopts the right tools and technologies.

You will work in close collaboration with all the teams belonging to the validation group, the teams of the division participating in the development of the Design, Verification, Firmware, Application, Electrical Characterization products, Optical characterization, industrial test, software development, and key customers for the division. You will participate in project meetings to share information, actions, and priorities within the team.

You have technical skills in addition to team management; your expertise may also be called upon to participate in customer support and integration. The following skills and experience are essential:
