We’re currently recruiting for a Transport Supervisor to be based at our site in Barnsley. As part of this busy transport operation, you’ll ensure the timely and safe dispatch of drivers across the Monday to Friday – 1pm – 9:30pm shifts. Organising routes and coordinating with a team of drivers and vehicles.

What you’ll do on a typical day:

• Be responsible for the running of the site transport operation, whilst leading a team of drivers.
• Ensuring drivers are briefed and depart in a timely manner.
• Liaise with internal stakeholders and suppliers daily to resolve queries.
• Act as the single point of contact for all drivers on the road.
• Track logistics KPI metrics and report to the Contract & Logistics management team.
• Manage maintenance and service schedules for a fleet of HGV vehicles, tractor units, and trailers.
• Handle vehicle investigations and site investigations/disciplinaries.
• Participate in site QHSE activities contributing to site monitoring and QHSE goals.

What you need to succeed at XPO:

• Essential: Experience working in a fast-paced environment where no two days are the same, with the ability to think on your feet.
• Essential: Previous experience in a complex transport environment, ideally in a supervisory or step-up role.
• Essential: Good administrative and organisational skills, preferably in a transport setting.
• Essential: Experience with HGV vehicles and maintenance schedules.
• Essential: Customer service experience and presentability, as you will be based on the customer’s site.
• Desirable: Management CPC holder.
• Desirable: Experience as a Team Leader or in a supervisory role.
• Desirable: Experience with systems such as Paragon, Masterpack, WTS, Sphere, or other PoD or planning systems.
