We’re looking for

a talented Transport Supervisor to join us on a full-time, permanent basis working Monday to Friday on our morning shift; 06:00 – 15:00 at our Rochester site, for our shared user network. Through the shared service we deliver specialised freight and palletised goods. This is a great opportunity to develop your skills as a hands-on transport operations supervisor within a dynamic and collaborative team.

Pay, benefits and more:

We’re looking to offer a salary of up to £32,000 per annum. We offer 25 days holiday (plus bank holidays), as well as the option to buy additional days. You’ll have access to a variety of high street discounts, cycle to work scheme, a workplace pension and many other perks.

What you’ll do on a typical day:

• Coordinate the transport operations on site to meet both network and customer expectations.
• Ensure that all drivers are compliant with the working time directive regulations and that any accidents/incidents are investigated in a timely manner.
• Liaise with line management to ensure the effective use of hire vehicles / subcontractors, minimizing the cost impact to the business.
• Ensure the operation is fully resourced by using sub-contractors when needed. Coordinate and record holidays and absences.
• Ensure the overall smooth delivery of the operation daily and utilise the team around you.
• Be involved in HR & health & safety cases – recruitment, investigations, disciplinaries, absences & return to works.

What you need to succeed at XPO:

• Essential: Good understanding & experience of working within a fast-paced transport operation, ideally in a palletised environment.
• Essential: Experience in both transport operations and transport planning.
• Essential: Excellent communication skills – you’ll be speaking regularly with various internal and external stakeholders.
• Essential: Experience leading people & drivers.
• Essential: The ability to learn new systems and use Excel efficiently.
• Desirable: CPC qualified.
