Job Description
Background of the project:
The International Rescue Committee has launched a project, TRANSFORM: Building Diverse Sexual Orientation, Gender Identity and Expression, and Sex Characteristics (SOGIESC) Inclusion in Humanitarian Response. A considerable part of this project is centered around the development and dissemination of learning resources; as such, IRC and Edge Effect are looking to establish a visual identity for the project.
Scope of work:
The Consultant will be responsible for providing a professionally designed project visual identity pack that can be contextualized and adapted.
The identity needs to be compatible for all four of IRC’s working languages – English, Arabic, French and Spanish. The pack should be inclusive and accessible, including screen-reader compatible.
This process will include maximum two reviews and set of amends.
The individual consultant will be responsible for designing a project visual identity pack, which also aligns with the IRC style guide. This pack may include the following, to be definitively agreed in the initial meeting:
- TRANSFORM logo
- PowerPoint template
- Publications template, including a case study template
- This template will identify colors, typographies, cover pages, and images that are appropriate to use
- If needed, the designer may be required to develop an initial repository of images
- Other outputs such as Zoom background and banner for registration pages, social media cards (TBD)
The consultant will share the deliverables in the following formats:
- Files for the logo, images and other deliverables, in format to be confirmed in the initial meeting
- PowerPoint template
- Word template with pre-inserted settings for case study and general publications
- Please note all formats will need to be compatible with IRC’s four languages: Arabic, English, French, Spanish
The following estimated timeline is proposed for the completion of the identified deliverables (in bold ):
Day and Activity
- Day 1 – Designer meets with IRC TRANSFORM representatives to discuss requirements, ideas and things to avoid
- Day 7 – IRC inform designer of the selected logo
- Day 10 – Designer shares first draft project visual identity pack for review
- Day 11 – IRC share first round of feedback on draft identity pack with designer. Designer meets with IRC if required.
- Day 13 – Designer to share second draft of visual identity pack – if required
- Day 14 – IRC share any final feedback with designer – if required
- Day 15 – Designer to share clean final visual identity pack
NB: Dates would be based on 15 working days Monday – Friday, not including weekends, however for the consultant there is flexibility on working days and hours. Time between dates can be discussed in initial meeting.
