Trainee Technical Support Officer

Role Responsibility

We have an exciting opportunity to join the Highways Asset Management and Inspections Team as a Trainee Technical Support Officer in our Highway Definitions service.

This position plays a vital role in delivering our Highway Definition service, which includes maintaining the National Street Gazetteer data, providing highway boundary plans, and responding to searches and enquiries about planned highway schemes.

The team also conducts safety inspections, manages highway assets, and oversees numerous road and footway renewal and preservation schemes annually.

The role primarily involves providing quotations, facilitating payments, and managing enquiries, comments, complaints, and compliments to ensure excellent customer service.

As a trainee role, full training will be provided. The successful candidate must complete all training programmes and gain at least 12 months of experience, with the potential to progress to a KR6 Technical Support Officer role if appropriate.

The position is based at Kroner House, Ashford, with flexible working options available.

This is a customer-facing role. Under Part 7 of the Immigration Act (2016), the Council is required to ensure candidates have sufficient spoken English/Welsh to perform the job effectively, as outlined in the Job Description/Person Specification.
