PTSG are looking to appoint a Trainee Fall Arrest Installations Engineer. This Engineer will assist in the responsibility of the safe on-site installations of fall protection and rope access equipment, ensuring they are installed in accordance with the scope of works, design drawings and industry standards, also to ensure that all jobs are carried out in a safe and efficient manner. Comprehensive recording of site/installation progress.
Key Accountabilities:- As a key member of the installation team, the Fall Arrest Installation Engineer would be expected to take leadership for the specific installation operations on site.
- Liaise with Site Managers / clients for the duration of the installation.
- Ensure that all installations are carried out in accordance with the Method Statement Risk Assessments and approved drawings.
- Installation, Inspection and Maintenance of Fall arrest equipment to both major construction sites and live buildings in accordance with the applicable British Standards and the manufacturers guidelines.
- Care and maintenance of all company equipment and materials.
- Care and maintenance of the company van.
- Clear and concise completion of all PTSG paperwork in a timely manner.
- Complete online inductions as necessary.
- Maintain a smart professional company image ensuring all corporate clothing is worn and the PTSG van is clean and tidy.
The work undertaken is generally outdoors and at height, requiring our Engineers to gain access to rooftops and systems in sometimes difficult to reach places. The lifting and use of light equipment is required. The types of sites and Engineer will work on range from high-rise commercial properties to large retail units and industrial structures. Driving is a critical part of the role given the size and location of the customer base. Working away from home will be a requirement but is avoided by management where possible.
Role Dimensions:- To ensure that the team are representing the group to an impeccable level, providing excellent customer service.
- Assess and make changes where necessary, to improve efficiency on site via feedback from both the client and the PTSG management / supervision structure.
- To increase knowledge by continual personal development and attending regular training courses.
- Enhance the reputation of the group by setting high standards of all elements of the installation process.
- A good level of communication skills both written & verbal.
- Experience of working at heights is desirable.
- Be able to work away from home when required.
- Excellent time management, along with flexibility to suit the business requirements.
- An ability to work through challenges on site and find an effective solution.
- Experience of working in a small team.
- Practical experience in the installation and testing of fixings (Torque setting etc.) in a construction or construction related environment.
- CSCS Card.
- Physical fitness.
- The ability to work at height.
- High level of personal pride and be driven to succeed.
- Full Driving Licence.
The Fall Arrest Installation Engineer will report to the Installation Director and Contracts Supervisor, who will in turn report to the Operations Director.
