You will be based at our modern, purpose-built Head Office in the vibrant city centre of Cardiff. Cardiff is an accessible city with strong transport links, and London is only 2 hours away by train.

The role

As a Buyer, you will assist in developing, sourcing, and delivering on-trend, commercially focused ranges that drive profit and enhance the Peacocks brand. You will be part of our close-knit Head Office team, ensuring ranges align with our brand vision and strategy.

Responsibilities/Objectives:

• Plan and build a commercially balanced range, achieving margin targets.
• Conduct regular product reviews, coordinating trends, looks, and color palettes across departments.
• Operate an effective product sign-off process, adhering to critical paths and planning cycles.
• Manage critical paths and deadlines, raising issues and communicating action plans.
• Analyze sales data to identify top-performing products, making data-driven decisions for future lines.
• Source, select, and negotiate with suppliers to optimize product quality, pricing, and terms.
• Lead meetings with senior management, ensuring effective communication and timely completion of actions.
• Collaborate with other departments to ensure successful launch of new product lines and initiatives.
• Work with the merchandising team to monitor trade, stock turn, margin targets, and profit levels.

Skills and Experience:

• Experience in a Fashion Retail Buying role with a commercial mindset.
• Deep understanding of fabrics, garment construction, and the buying process, with a keen eye for print and pattern.
• Passion for trends and ability to drive innovation in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent negotiation skills and relationship-building with suppliers.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills for internal and external collaboration.
• Proven success in developing and trading highly commercial fashion ranges that exceed sales and profit targets.
