We have an incredible opportunity to join us here at Phoenix Group as a Technology Disaster Recovery Manager in our Technology Resilience & Control team within Technical Service Operations.
Job Type: Permanent
Location: This role could be based in Birmingham, Telford, London, or Edinburgh with a mix of office and remote work.

Salary and benefits: £46,900 – £75,000, 16% bonus up to 32%, private medical cover, 38 days annual leave, pension, life assurance, career breaks, income protection, volunteering days, and more.
The role
The Technology Disaster Recovery Manager develops, implements, and manages the organisation’s IT disaster recovery strategy, plans, and testing to ensure rapid restoration of critical IT services during disruptions. The role involves collaboration with business units to align recovery capabilities with operational resilience and risk appetite, along with policy implementation and regulatory compliance.
- Disaster Recovery Strategy: Develop and maintain comprehensive strategies addressing operational resilience scenarios.
- Disaster Recovery Planning: Create and update recovery plans and procedures for IT systems.
- Risk Assessment: Conduct assessments and analyses to identify vulnerabilities, updating plans as needed.
- Testing and Validation: Organize drills and simulations to validate recovery plans.
- Collaboration: Liaise between IT and business leadership to support recovery initiatives.
- Training and Awareness: Develop training programs on disaster recovery roles and procedures.
- Documentation and Reporting: Keep documentation current and report on testing outcomes.
- Continuous Improvement: Suggest enhancements based on industry trends and organisational changes.
What are we looking for?
- Experience with IT infrastructure, cloud services, and data backup solutions.
- Strong knowledge of disaster recovery practices, methodologies, and tools.
- Familiarity with regulatory standards such as ISO 22301, ISO 27001, etc.
- Proven experience in IT disaster recovery or business continuity.
- Certifications like CBCP, MBCI, CISM, or equivalent.
