Working with your own high net worth client portfolio, your role will involve the following duties and responsibilities:
- Personal and Corporate Tax Preparation and review of personal tax returns for a diverse range of clients.
- Assisting in managing a client portfolio.
- Communicating with clients via email and telephone, serving as a point of contact.
- Preparation of capital gains tax calculations.
- Liaising with HMRC on behalf of clients.
- Assisting with HMRC inquiries into personal and corporate tax returns.
- Supporting HMRC disclosures such as Let Property Campaigns and Worldwide Income Disclosures.
- Preparation and review of forms P11D.
- Preparing corporation tax computations and LLP income tax computations, reviewing those prepared by the accounts/audit team for corporate clients.
- Assisting Managers and Directors with research into technical areas.
- Opportunities to collaborate with Managers and Directors on tax advisory projects (e.g., restructuring, remuneration planning, incorporations, share buy-backs, R&D tax credits, EMI schemes, EIS and SEIS applications).
- Training and supervising junior team members.
- Participating in team management.
- Preparing client fee proposals.
Skills, Experience, and Attributes Required:
- Preferably ATT/CTA Part or Fully Qualified; candidates with ACA/ACCA/STEP or QBE with long-term tax experience are also considered.
- Interest in trust and inheritance tax, with a desire to develop expertise in this area.
- Strong literacy and numerical skills.
- Experience in a mixed tax role, with at least 50% practical knowledge in Corporate Tax.
- Strong IT skills, including Excel and ideally Iris.
- Minimum of 3 years' practice experience.
- Up-to-date technical knowledge of recent developments in tax.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, capable of engaging with diverse audiences.
- Organized, capable of managing multiple tasks and a varied workload.
- Client-focused and commercially aware.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure.
- Willingness to learn new skills and adapt to change.
- Self-motivated, positive, and committed to the firm and its clients and team members.
