Swim Co-ordinator Job Description
Are you organized with great communication skills and experience in Swim Management & Safeguarding?
We’re seeking a Swim Co-ordinator responsible for the successful operation, development, and management of the group & individual Swim programme. This includes aligning the programme with ASA innovations and ensuring it remains flexible, exciting, and engaging, thereby enhancing our customers’ experience.
Reporting to the Family Activities Manager and collaborating closely with Swim Instructors & the wider club team, the responsibilities include:
- Developing, managing, and implementing a comprehensive in-club Swim programme, including ASA guidelines, innovations, and holiday activities.
- Ensuring Swim instructors adhere to Health & Safety and departmental policies to maintain a safe environment, in compliance with Safeguarding Children & Vulnerable Adults policies and statutory requirements.
- Delivering an excellent level of teaching, leading the Swim Team to achieve high standards, and creating an exceptional experience for members.
- Developing creative and innovative classes following the ASA National Swim Plan for Teaching Swimming.
- Managing the Swim team, including recruitment, training, development, rotas, and payroll.
- Driving departmental success by meeting targets and budgets, and developing staff to meet Brand Standards.
- Delivering financial and departmental KPIs, conducting Health Checks, and passing audits.
Essential Qualifications and Skills
- ASA Level 2/STA Full Swim Instructor Qualification
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with professionalism in all interactions
- Experience working in a commercial environment, maintaining composure under pressure
- Proficiency with computers and quick learner of new systems
- Either a Lifeguard Qualification or confident swimming ability, with willingness to obtain a Lifeguard course within the first month
- Enhanced DBS clearance prior to start
