Are you looking for a new opportunity to help make the aviation industry more sustainable? We are currently seeking individuals who understand the complexities of sustainability solutions and can apply these in an aviation context. Decarbonising aviation is necessary but complex, and we work with government and industry to help our clients develop the policies, technologies and organisations needed to achieve this ambition. The next decade will be key, with policymakers, regulators and companies from across the industry committing to sustainability targets, supported by rapidly improving technologies, regulations, and a clear recognition of the need for change.
Our experts help clients to navigate this complex, evolving landscape. Our work spans the design, evaluation and implementation of policies, development of pragmatic corporate sustainability strategies, and the delivery of sustainability initiatives. Our clients include global governments, agencies, NGOs and many of the companies leading the transition - with many others seeking to accelerate their journey to more sustainable operations. Our experience has been gained through decades of work towards a more sustainable future, and we’re proud to work alongside our aviation clients to achieve a sustainable, connected world.
The role: As a Sustainable Aviation Manager, you’ll have responsibility for the day-to-day management of small to mid-size projects and workstreams in aviation sustainability. You will be providing sustainability subject matter expertise and working directly with clients while overseeing contributions from the wider team to deliver meaningful solutions. This role sits within our Sustainable Aviation team, part of the Aviation, Travel and Tourism consulting division, and while likely to be focused on aviation sustainability, offers a range of opportunities to contribute to the diverse projects delivered across the wider division. This role can be based in either Spain or the UK.
How you will make an impact:
- Lead the delivery of small to mid-size aviation sustainability projects.
- Provide ICF’s clients with cutting-edge solutions to never-before-seen challenges. To do this, you will be constantly learning, keeping up to date with new market developments, policies, methodologies and practices and developing new ways of working.
- Own and develop a stream of the support we provide to key clients, understanding their challenges, managing solutions long-term, and maintaining regular communication.
- Support business growth including activities such as building industry relationships, writing proposals, contributing to insightful articles, and presenting at conferences.
- Mentor junior consultants in projects and act as a guide for their early career growth.
The strengths and behaviours required:
- Expertise and interest in sustainability
- Enthusiasm to drive aviation industry decarbonisation
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities
- Sound business ethics, including the protection of confidential information
- An approach to better delivery through teamwork and cross-team collaboration
The knowledge, skills and experience we’re looking for:
- At least 5 years’ direct experience in one or more of the following:
- Aviation decarbonisation strategy development and implementation.
- Carbon accounting
