Job Description:

Wilkshire Early Childhood Center – August 23, 2024

Job Summary: Under the direct supervision of a classroom teacher and the guidelines in the student’s IEP, provide support to deliver a sound academic program and maintain a safe, healthy, and supportive environment for children with special needs. Responsibilities may include one-on-one or small group support depending on student needs.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Ability to relate and communicate effectively with children, teachers, parents, and professionals.
• Ability to facilitate medical needs of students if required.
• Strong interpersonal skills for working with students with disabilities.
• Experience working with special education students.

Physical Requirements: Standing, walking, sitting, using hands, reaching, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, talking, hearing, and occasionally lifting up to 40 pounds.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Implement IEPs and behavior intervention plans.
• Willingness to be trained in First Aid/CPR and nonviolent intervention techniques.
• Assist students with boarding and exiting the bus.
• Supervise playground and lunchroom activities.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the teacher, principal, or Director of Student Services.

Contract Duration: School year
