Meet the team
Our Intellectual Property team, part of our wider Commercial and Intellectual Property team within the Life & Business Group, advises across a broad spectrum of IP rights. We have extensive experience in protecting, enforcing, and exploiting IP rights, including patents, trademarks, designs, copyright, advertising, confidential information, database rights, and data protection. We have appeared in all major court fora, including the Patents Court, IPEC, and UKIPO. Additionally, we have substantial experience in licensing and technology transfer for both commercial and academic organizations.
In 2022, we were proud to win the Intellectual Property Enterprise Court βTeam of the Yearβ award from Managing Intellectual Property magazine. We are highly ranked in national and international directories.
The opportunity
This is an exciting opportunity to join our vibrant IP team, focusing on IP work. You will handle a variety of tasks, including contentious and non-contentious IP law, advising clients on exploiting and enforcing their IP rights. The workload split will vary over time.
Responsibilities within the role:
- Working alongside experienced senior lawyers passionate about IP
- Building your own caseload
- Handling enquiries efficiently
- Liaising professionally with clients
- Working to strict deadlines
Skills and experience you will have:
- Previous experience in IP law during your training contract
- Possibly a postgraduate qualification in IP Law β support available if not
- Strong IT skills
- Effective file management abilities
Key competencies you will need:
- A desire to develop expertise in the dynamic field of IP law
- A desire to strengthen client relationships through daily activities
- Excellent communication skills
- High initiative and resilience in a demanding environment
- Outstanding organizational and prioritization skills
- Ability to work well in a busy team
