The Advocate will provide advocacy, advisory, and drafting services to Keoghs LLP. Full training will be provided by senior lawyers. The role is based in Liverpool but may require travel to Manchester and Bolton offices. We are open to part-time candidates on 3 or 4 days per week with flexible hours.
Key Responsibilities:
- Undertake advocacy, drafting, and advisory work, including pleadings, interlocutory hearings, small claims, fast track trials, sanctions, and recoveries.
- Assist senior team members in delivering these services.
- Contribute to advocacy and litigation training for fee earners.
- Supervise and mentor Band One Advocates.
- Engage in client-facing and product development tasks.
- Support the development of the in-house advocacy team.
Working hours: 35 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 9am – 5pm, with 1 unpaid hour for lunch. Primary location is Liverpool.
Skills, Knowledge, and Expertise:
- Full practising certificate (if Barrister).
- Enthusiasm to develop an advocacy career.
- Experience in insurance fraud, general PI, EL/PL, or professional negligence is advantageous.
- Qualified Solicitor or equivalent.
- Excellent written communication skills.
- Tenacious and self-motivated.
