At Clarus Education, we are working with an FE College who are seeking to appoint a FE Sociology Lecturer based at their Uxbridge Campus. Our Sixth Form at Uxbridge College is responsible primarily for the delivery of A Level, AS, GCSE and BTEC Science courses and is based at the Uxbridge site. We have a track record of achieving strong results which places the Sixth Form in the top 5% of colleges nationally for A level progress. Sociology is one of the best performing subjects within the Sixth Form, and we are looking for a dedicated and capable individual to continue our success. You would teach across Sociology programmes up to A Level.

Person Specification:

  • A degree in a relevant subject and have teaching experience in the subject area up to Level 3, including A Level - essential
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills to engage young people aged 16-19
  • An advanced level teaching qualification recognised by the FE sector (e.g. DET, PGCE) or willing to work towards a Level 5 teaching qualification, supported by the College
  • Experience of successful teaching Sociology, up to Level 3
  • Able to demonstrate a high standard of teaching and student achievement
  • Experience of organising and implementing quality systems and procedures
