Job Description: ShotGrid Production Manager at Skydance Animation

The ShotGrid Production Manager will report to the Head of Production and serve as the primary contact for SDA and SAM (Skydance Animation Madrid) ShotGrid users regarding ShotGrid implementation for feature animation workflows. This role involves managing requirements, schedules, and targets for ShotGrid configuration, implementation, and training, collaborating closely with the workflow team and studio leadership to prioritize and execute changes.
Responsibilities
- Manage ShotGrid requests from production teams and supervisors
- Collaborate with Production Technology teams to implement pipeline needs related to ShotGrid
- Develop standardized workflows and best practices with stakeholders, including film production teams and studio management
- Manage ShotGrid fields and templates for tracking and reporting
- Create high-level data views for forecasting and data extraction to support production and studio leadership
- Maintain documentation for production workflows related to ShotGrid
- Possess working knowledge of ShotGrid in VFX/animation production and communicate effectively to support studio needs
- Unify multiple projects into ShotGrid using common tools for consistency
- Build consensus across shows for global ShotGrid changes
- Document ShotGrid tools and processes
- Identify opportunities to improve user experience and reduce complexity
- Facilitate training sessions to enhance team proficiency with ShotGrid
- Engage in cross-departmental communication to optimize ShotGrid for production needs
Requirements
- Bachelor\’s degree preferred
- Understanding of feature film production workflows
- At least 5 years of management experience in feature or TV animation workflows, with direct ShotGrid experience
- Working knowledge of ShotGrid in VFX/animation production
- Effective communication skills to support studio needs
- Strong computer skills, including ShotGrid, Excel, and MS Office
- Experience with ShotGrid API for custom tool development is a plus
- Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
- Flexibility to work varied hours as necessary
