Job Description:

We are looking for a Warehouse & Logistics Shift Team Leader to work for a local manufacturer & distributor based in Leicester.

This position is available on a 12 week temp to perm basis.

The Job:

• You will be a Team Leader to help ensure the safety and legality of the Warehouse and Logistics operations.
• Your role is important to ensure that company service, performance standards, and compliance are met to the expected standards.
• You will be responsible for warehousing, logistics, hygiene, security, and facilities management of the company premises.
  • Responsibilities include:
    • Supervision and management of Warehouse & Logistics operatives to ensure work is completed in a timely, accurate, and efficient manner.
    • Ensuring all health & safety and welfare of all operatives is in line with company policy and procedures.
    • Managing the daily start-up procedures – unlocking and pre-start checks on all equipment.
    • Planning resources effectively to maximise efficiency and achieve operational success.
    • Managing the daily work plans, daily order picking requirements, and monitoring accuracy of picks and sales orders.
    • Ensuring customer service is maintained to Company targeted levels by monitoring and reviewing performance.
    • Ensuring company stock control procedures are followed and executed accurately.
    • Responsible for supervising, motivating, training & developing members of the team to ensure company objectives are met.
    • Be part of the recruiting process for new colleagues.
• Hours of work will be a rotating shift pattern which is 1 week 6am-3.30pm and 1 week 8.30am-6pm.
• Salary is £14.15ph and you will be paid for 45 hours per week (if working full week – with a 30 mins unpaid lunch break).

About You:

• Previous team leader or supervisory experience in a warehouse and/or logistics environment.
• If you have forklift experience and valid certificates, this would be beneficial.
• Able to demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Can demonstrate previous experience of supervising warehouse teams and how to effectively deal with any issues to ensure the company objectives were met.
• Be efficient with Microsoft Office and internal IT systems.
• Able to work rotating shifts.
• Happy with a 12 week temp to perm contract – the objective is for you to become a permanent member of the team, so you need to be looking for a long-term opportunity.
