Is it your dream to live in the heart of the UK? If so, this is the perfect role for you! Our client based in north-east London is looking for a Consultant who specialises in Sexual & Reproductive Health to join their team. This is a permanent 1.0 WTE consultant post in Sexual & Reproductive Health, with a specific lead on the development of the local sexual health system, contraception services including training.

The post holder will be responsible for leading on provision of contraception services within an integrated sexual health service, and work with the service lead to deliver a high quality and safe service.

The successful candidate should have the following:

  • Full GMC Registration with License to Practice (ESSENTIAL)
  • MBBS, MBChB or equivalent
  • On GMC Specialist Register with Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT) in Community Sexual & Reproductive Health (or to obtain within 6 months of interview date) or Genitourinary Medicine or Certificate of Eligibility for Specialist Registration
  • MFSRH
  • Letters of competence in subdermal implants and intrauterine techniques
  • Wide experience of providing all reversible contraception methods
  • Experience in performing ultrasound scanning for the management of complicated IUC and deep implants including the ability to remove lost IUC with missing threads and deep impalpable implants
  • Experience of providing services to young people, including under 16s
  • Ability to provide STI management
  • Evidence of significant contribution to successful teamwork

Additional Information: Office accommodation is provided together with medical secretarial support. The post holder will have a commitment to be available for 10 programmed activities (PAs) each week, including one evening clinic. There may be a requirement to undertake a Saturday morning clinic on a 1 in 5 rota with time off in lieu – this is to be confirmed.
