We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Staff Physicist to join our Medical Physics team at The London Clinic. We offer a competitive salary of £62,978 – £73,997 per annum , depending on skills and experience.

Department Overview:

The Medical Physics department supports radiotherapy with state-of-the-art equipment, including Varian Truebeam linear accelerators, an Accuray Cyberknife, and advanced imaging systems like 3T MRI and PET/CT. Treatment planning is performed using Eclipse and Precision systems, with ARIA R&V system support.

Job Profile:

The Senior Staff Physicist will provide comprehensive radiotherapy physics support, including routine QA for equipment such as linear accelerators, CT-Simulator, and Cyberknife, as well as treatment planning QA. A key responsibility involves leading the management of imaging systems, developing protocols, and training staff. The role also involves supporting research activities.

Key Duties:

  • Support the Radiotherapy department as a Medical Physics Expert (MPE).
  • Lead calibration and policy development for imaging equipment.
  • Perform and advise on dosimetry measurements and support developments in in-vivo dosimetry and imaging.
  • Conduct routine QA and maintain calibration of equipment.
  • Collaborate with engineers and suppliers on equipment status and development.
  • Review and approve treatment plans and related records.
  • Perform independent checks of treatment plans.
  • Contribute to departmental training, research, and publications.

Skills & Experience:

  • BSc in Physics (2:1 or higher), MSc in Medical Physics, and HCPC registration or eligibility.
  • Experience in a clinical or hospital setting, with private radiotherapy experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of radiotherapy equipment and techniques such as VMAT, IGRT, SRS/SBRT, SGRT, and gating.
  • Excellent communication skills and a patient-centered approach.
