Job Description:
Affirm is reinventing credit to make it more honest and friendly, giving consumers the flexibility to buy now and pay later without any hidden fees or compounding interest.
As part of the Consumer Payments team at Affirm, you\’ll be working on Affirm\’s Payment Processing Network, which processes billions of dollars in payments annually and is a vital component of Affirm\’s platform.
We seek highly motivated software engineers passionate about building high throughput, high availability systems that can scale with our growing business.
You will collaborate with multiple partner teams across Europe and the US to support feature development, international expansion, and improve key financial metrics.
What you\’ll do
- Partner with product managers and stakeholders to improve and expand our payments platform
- Develop a deep understanding of payment networks and the payments industry
- Collaborate with partners and colleagues across the USA and Europe
What we look for
- 4+ Years of experience as a software engineer
- Drive to improve consumer financial services
- Fluency in both backend and frontend development
- Strong cross-team communication and collaboration skills
- Nice to have: Knowledge of, or willingness to work with, Kotlin and Typescript; familiarity with payment processing principles, Open Banking standards, and experience in technical leadership roles
Compensation and Benefits
Base Pay Grade: N
Equity Grade: UK 5
Employees typically start at the beginning of the pay range, which is based on location, experience, and skills.
Base pay ranges from £117,000 to £157,000 per year, with additional benefits including health, wellness, tech stipends, and subsidized medical, dental, and vision coverage for employees and dependents. Equity rewards may also be available.
