We are working with a leading innovator in high-speed communications technology to find an experienced Senior RF Design Engineer to join their team. This role focuses on the design and verification of cutting-edge high-speed signal transmission interfaces, playing a key role in next-generation telecoms applications.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and verification of high-speed signal transmission interfaces, including 56GBd/112GBd PAM4 low-loss interfaces with bandwidths up to 70GHz.
- Controlled impedance PCB trace design, pre/post-layout simulation, and integration with PCB CAD tools.
- RF simulation using tools such as Polar Si8000, Ansys HFSS, and Keysight ADS.
- PCB material selection, stack-up design, and optimisation in collaboration with suppliers.
- Analysis of insertion loss, return loss, and near/far-end crosstalk to ensure signal integrity.
- End-to-end RF chain simulation, including via transitions, IBIS models, and supplier S-parameter files.
- Hands-on VNA, spectrum analyser, and RF power meter testing for verification and debugging.
- Test automation, results capture, analysis, and presentation to internal teams.
Requirements:
- RF design experience, preferably within telecoms applications.
- Strong knowledge of high-speed PCB design and RF performance optimisation.
- Experience working with high-frequency signal integrity challenges and RF measurement techniques.
- Proficiency in RF simulation tools and PCB design collaboration.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work within a multidisciplinary team.
