Overview
Key responsibilities:
- Responsible for portfolio management across all companies active products, recommending clear target margins and return on equity targets.
- Responsible for recommending rate and persistency targets for the annual Financial Plan that align with their target margins and growth ambitions.
- Recommend market pricing initiatives allowing for customer lifetime value, competitor actions and other external market factors.
- Maintain pricing systems and ensure appropriate controls over pricing updates.
- Support Pricing and Risk selection strategic initiatives as required.
- Play an active role in the relationships with key partners including Financial Underwriting, GPS, DT&T and Strategy & Planning as required.
Qualifications required:
- Qualified actuary, with strong post qualification experience.
- Degree level education at grade 2:1 or above in a subject with significant mathematical or statistical content.
Experience required:
- Experience in commercial pricing.
- Detailed knowledge of the life and/or general insurance industry.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Highly numerate with good IT skills.
- The ability to work under pressure, deliver expected results and manage competing and conflicting demands within the workload.
- The ability to apply new ideas and approaches to business needs and provide external industry insights.
- The ability to manage team members (if required) and provide on the job and career coaching.
