We are seeking an experienced and motivated Specialist Occupational Therapist to join a dynamic team in Stroke and Neuro Rotation at one of the Trusts in South West England. The Trust is renowned for its exceptional clinical care, particularly in specialist areas such as stroke rehabilitation and neurological conditions.
As a Specialist Occupational Therapist in the Stroke and Neuro Rotation, you will provide expert assessment, treatment, and rehabilitation to patients with neurological conditions. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of stroke and neuro-rehabilitation principles and a passion for supporting patients to regain functional independence. You will work across various settings, supporting patients through their recovery journey and collaborating closely with a multidisciplinary team.
Key responsibilities include:
- Conducting comprehensive assessments of patients with complex neurological needs.
- Developing and implementing tailored intervention plans to maximise functional abilities and independence.
- Providing specialised rehabilitation programmes for activities of daily living, including cognitive and physical function enhancement.
- Collaborating with a multidisciplinary team (MDT) including physiotherapists, nurses, doctors, and social workers to ensure holistic patient care.
- Engaging in complex discharge planning and supporting patients in transitioning to home or community settings.
Requirements:
- HCPC registered Occupational Therapist.
- Extensive experience in stroke and neurological rehabilitation.
- Proven ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Strong clinical reasoning and problem-solving skills.
- Effective communication and time management skills.
- Relevant experience in functional assessment, activity analysis, and discharge planning.
