Senior NOC (Network Operations Centre) Engineer

Location: Cardiff (central) – Hybrid working available

Working Hours: Monday to Friday, flexible start/end times, on call 1 in 4 weeks

Are you an experienced NOC Engineer from a telecoms/ISP background seeking a role with job security, hybrid working, on call earnings, training, and career progression?

This role is with a major utilities provider managing over 100,000 customers, offering excellent job security, training on Nokia qualifications and ITIL, and opportunities for advancement.

The position was created through internal promotion, highlighting the potential for growth. Earnings can be increased through on call and overtime, which are optional, supporting a healthy work/life balance with flexible hours and two days remote work per week.

The role involves diverse activities, including customer-facing support, network management, and product development, working with advanced access technology like GPON Fibre to the Home (FTTH).

The role includes:

• Full-time, permanent employment with a major utilities company
• Two days per week from home, flexible start/end times, on call 1 week in 4
• Managing network responses to outages and incidents, supporting on-site teams
• Maintaining and upgrading the core network
• Serving as a senior technical escalation point

The ideal candidate:

• Holds relevant qualifications such as Nokia NRS certification, Juniper qualifications, or a degree in IT/Network Engineering
• Has extensive experience working in a NOC within a telecoms/ISP environment, preferably serving over 50,000 customers
• Can configure and troubleshoot routing and communication protocols (TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF)
