Job summary
Our client, a leading company in the Energy sector, is currently seeking a Senior M&E Design Engineer to join their team.
Key skills required for this role:
- Mechanical design
- Electrical power
- Substation
- CDM chartership
- Switchgears
- Transformers
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform feasibility studies, site surveys, and buildability assessments for M&E engineering installations
- Produce M&E engineering designs that comply with relevant standards and CDM regulations
- Review designs produced by other engineers
- Contribute to the production of technical, commercial, and contractual documents
- Ensure compliance with legislation, regulations, and company procedures
- Support and mentor trainee/graduate engineers
- Fulfill the role of Principal Designer, if required
Job Requirements:
- Minimum University degree in engineering/science or equivalent qualification and experience in the energy sector
- Chartered engineer or working towards achieving Chartership
- Background in M&E engineering and building services, with experience in the utility sector
- Good safety culture and understanding of Construction Design and Management (CDM) regulations
- Proficiency in Microsoft desktop applications and knowledge of AutoCAD
- Knowledge of power engineering equipment, such as transformers, switchgears, and cables
- Understanding of site surveying and setting out
- Good team working skills
