Job Description:
Your new company
Our client is an international advisory & accounting firm with 50,000 people in 100 countries. The UK business has seen consistent double-digit growth year-on-year (averagely 15%) through organic growth and strategic team acquisitions. A truly global firm, it has a financial structure that incentivises Partners to collaborate cross-jurisdiction, making it agile in its ability to respond/get a team on the ground. Internal functions have evolved accordingly, yielding a new Senior Finance Business Partner opening.
Your new role
Reporting to the Head of FP&A, who reports to the CFO, this is an opportunity to engage with senior leaders of the firm. You will manage 4 FBPs, with approximately 25% of your role dedicated to coaching and mentoring. 15-20% will be spent on strategic projects, while the remainder will involve running a stakeholder group in one of the larger service lines (circa £130 million fee). You will have support from an FBP for this latter responsibility.
A full specification is available, but key responsibilities include:
- Managing a team of high-performing finance business partners.
- Overseeing the budget/forecast process.
- Supporting pricing & profitability projects.
- Managing accurate financial reporting and cost reporting.
- Finance business partnering in a large service line.
- Building and maintaining key relationships with senior leaders in a dedicated service line.
What you’ll need to succeed
- Your initial career background should be in Audit for at least 4 years (which includes 3 training years and at least 1 year’s PQE). Your qualification is likely to be ICAEW or ICAS.
- Your post-qualification career should include finance roles in a large complex organisation. Experience in selling/fee-earning/professional services is a bonus but not essential. Your current title is likely to be Finance Business Partner, Finance Manager, or similar.
- Up-to-date technical knowledge of UK GAAP and IFRS.
- Ability to mentor and motivate in person – “arms around yet constructively critical”.
- The full and unrestricted right to work indefinitely in the UK.
What you’ll get in return
- Professional Services is a resilient sector for career development. A full-service firm can adapt and monetise whatever is happening in the economy, particularly in the service line you will support.
- Exposure to and influence with senior leaders/stakeholders in an international firm.
- Genuine team leadership and development experience.
- A competitive benefits package, including a discretionary bonus.
