Job Description:

A rare career opportunity has arisen with our client, a long-established and successful independent London-based trade book publishing house, who have asked Think Selection to find a talented Senior Editorial Director to lead the Adult book publishing team.

The company publishes best-selling nonfiction books for international markets on a broad range of genres that include Memoir and Biography, Popular Science, Gift and Humour.

Reporting to the Managing Director, your responsibilities will include:

  1. Managing the Editorial and Design team
  2. Assessing potential acquisitions for publication
  3. Managing publishing meetings
  4. Liaising with agents and authors over contractual agreements
  5. Structural editing of key titles
  6. Overseeing work in progress
  7. Acquiring and commissioning your own titles

The ideal candidate will have a background in publishing management and the commissioning of adult nonfiction trade books, with excellent editorial and communication skills, a keen eye for detail, and the ability to work in a dynamic and fast-paced publishing environment.

You’ll be based 3 days per week from the company’s offices in London. A competitive salary and company benefits are on offer to the successful candidate.
