Enable Design are looking for a talented Senior Design Civil Engineer to join our team in London. This is an exciting time to join the business during a period of transition into new markets including power, battery storage, drainage, and water sector-led schemes, in addition to our current rail offerings.
The Enable Design business is a small but developing team of Engineers and Technicians. The Senior Engineer will have the opportunity to grow into the role and significantly influence the future of the business. Reporting to the Principal Engineer, you will receive hands-on support to develop your professional qualifications and enhance your design and management skills across various markets.
As part of an SME, you will gain comprehensive exposure to how a construction business operates, interfacing with pre-construction, procurement, delivery, resourcing, hire, and other departments. Training will be tailored to your development plan.
There will be opportunities to manage your own projects and build your own team as the business expands. Current projects include railway substation schemes, battery energy storage systems (BESS), eHGV charging schemes, and various utility and ancillary civil designs.
Responsibilities
- Lead design projects, managing and driving deliverables with support from the Principal Engineer, ensuring outputs are delivered on time and meet quality standards.
- Coordinate with Infrastructure teams on infrastructure-led projects to meet project expectations with the wider project and client teams.
- Ensure adherence to Enable\’s and project-specific processes and procedures, promoting this within the design team with support from the Principal Engineer.
Experience
- Minimum five years of experience leading detailed designs in various sectors.
- Rail sector experience is advantageous.
- Understanding of standards and processes.
- Experience working within a design consultancy environment is advantageous.
- Ability to undertake and review technical design calculations.
Qualifications
- Experience undertaking CRE duties to NR/L2/RSE/02009 is advantageous.
- Degree in Engineering.
- Working towards Chartered or Incorporated status.
- Proficiency with MS Office suite.
- Experience with BIM environments and common data environments.
- Understanding of how design integrates with constructability is advantageous.
- PTS railway competency is an additional skill.
