PXO’s Previz Animators work under the guidance of the Lead Visualization Artist and/or Supervisor in the design of pre-visualized shots and sequences for film and TV projects. Their work supports the visual development of a project from concept through to production and VFX. In their work, they help to define shot composition, staging, lighting, and camera language, including movement, lens choice, and framing for a film or TV show. They also create technical information (Techvis) in diagram form or animated schematics in order to help inform the shoot. Previz Animators may also support postvis teams during the editorial process, by integrating and compositing animation or CG elements into live action plates using either After Effects or Nuke.
Requirements
- Strong understanding of cinematic composition and lighting
- Strong character animation (timing and performance)
- Knowledge of cinematic language and technical terminology
- Able to work with motion and/or performance capture data
- Able to take and interpret creative direction
- Understanding of the fundamentals of Techvis and Virtual Production
- Able to apply shooting methodology information to Previs to create technical solutions for production
