Job Description:
Numerix is looking for a Senior Cloud Operations Manager – EMEA who will be responsible for overseeing and managing the operations of company’s Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) cloud infrastructure and services. In this role, you are expected to stay up-to-date with the latest AWS developments and trends to make informed decisions and maximize the benefits of AWS for Numerix. You will play a critical role in ensuring the efficiency, reliability, and security of cloud-based systems and applications.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement strategies for the operation and maintenance of cloud infrastructure, ensuring high availability and performance.
- Manage a team of cloud operations professionals, providing guidance, coaching, and performance feedback.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement cloud-based solutions that meet business requirements.
- Monitor and analyze cloud performance metrics and identify areas for improvement in scalability, efficiency, and cost optimization.
- Oversee the implementation and maintenance of security measures, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.
- Plan and execute disaster recovery and business continuity strategies for cloud-based systems.
- Stay updated on emerging cloud technologies and industry trends, providing recommendations for their integration into existing infrastructure.
- Develop and maintain documentation related to cloud operations processes, procedures, and configurations.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to define and enforce cloud operations best practices and standards.
Requirements:
- Bachelor\’s degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field (master\’s degree is a plus).
- Minimum of 2 years of managing and leading cloud operations teams.
- In-depth knowledge of Amazon Web Services (AWS); extensive experience in AWS infrastructure management, with a strong background in various AWS services.
- Strong understanding of cloud infrastructure, including native (serverless) AWS services, networking, storage, and security.
- Strong understanding of AWS security and compliance best practices.
- Experience with cloud deployment and automation tools, such as Docker, Terraform/CFT, or Ansible/TeamCity.
- Proficiency in scripting and programming languages, such as Python, PowerShell, or Bash.
- Familiarity with monitoring and logging tools, such as CloudWatch.
- Knowledge of ITIL (Information Technology Infrastructure Library) practices and frameworks.
- Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills, with the ability to handle complex issues in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
Certifications
Required – AWS Certified SysOps Administrator, Solution Architect Associate or Professional, AWS Certified DevOps Engineer certification is highly desirable.
- Plus – Certified Information Security Manager (CISM).
Location / TimeZone:
- The role is open to EMEA w/ a preference for London
- The role is expected to cover working hours for that timezone
